So, you’re travelling abroad to have a business meeting, and you’re not quite sure what you have to take with you. Well, some things you need to take are rather well known, like your luggage, for example, but some other things really depend on where it is you’re actually going.

Different countries have different relations with each other, and some of the are even in the same political and economic union, while still being completely independent countries. That is why it is really important to read this up and see what it is you really ought to carry with you on your business trip abroad.

If you are going to one of the European countries, you probably think that you don’t even need a passport. Well, that is true for some countries, especially the European Union, but there are a lot of European countries that are not a part of the EU, and travelling to one of those would definitely require you to carry your passport with you. In fact, there are some EU countries that require passport for our nationals. Just to be safe, carry your passport with you, no matter where you’re going.

Another important thing you ought to carry with you is your European Health Card (EHIC, which will allow you to get the very same medical treatment as any other national of the country you’re in. So, basically, it will help you keep the medical costs down, and avoid all the unnecessary paperwork. Keep in mind that this card is only good for the countries of the European Economic Area plus Switzerland.

You can go abroad in many different ways; you can fly there, you can go by train, by bus, by your car, etc. However, no matter how you’re travelling, you need to make sure that you’ve got your tickets with you at all time. Try not to lose or misplace them; it is always the wisest to keep them in your jacket pocket. Of course, while we’re at the subject of stuff you need to keep close to you, you must remember to carry your business paperwork with you. After all, you are travelling to a business trip, and having none of your papers would be really bad for you. Carry your laptop as well; it can really come in handy during the long trip, and during your business meetings.

Of course, it goes without saying that you need to bring in some money with you; there is no point in travelling with an empty wallet. Also, try to remember to write down the address of the hotel you’re staying in and the location of the business meeting or meetings you need to be present at. It will make it so much easier for you to make your way around the new and unfamiliar city. And finally, as we have already mentioned, try to make sure you bring your luggage – it may seem a bit silly to remind people of this, but you’d be surprised at how many people actually forget to bring it with them!
